All Benecke-Kaliko products with the “Designed Green” label offer a host of healthful, eco-friendly advantages for the greatest possible benefit of people, the environment and the global climate. The Acella® Eco product family is a prime example of such products, for they are particularly kind to the skin and, moreover, low in emissions. Stabilizers containing heavy metals as well as antimony trioxide have been banished from these products, and all volatile substances have been kept to the absolute minimum necessary. This means that Benecke-Kaliko even keeps below the limits for volatile organic compounds for seat applications defined for American and European automotive manufacturers.

Acella® Eco Green is an ultra-skin-friendly material for vehicle interiors because it is contact-allergen-free in conformity with the ENV0006 Volvo standard. The cover material gives off virtually no emissions and odors, making for good air quality inside the vehicle interior. Benecke-Kaliko’s latest development is Acella® Eco Natural. This product has a renewable raw material content of as much as 50 percent.

Oeko-Tex® has tested the new interior materials for health-related parameters – with outstanding results: The products of the Acella® Eco family qualified for the most exacting certificate from Oeko-Tex® – the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, class I. This official seal of approval generally goes solely to materials that prove harmless for a baby’s delicate skin, such as for baby clothes. The material is currently used in series production in the interior of the Volvo XC60, which the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association added to the list of cars safe for people with allergies, and in various other Volvo models.
