Green Story

At Benecke-Kaliko sustainability begins with the manufacturing process. Here too the company is a pioneer: With special ventilation systems and bio-beds, the company has been able to reduce its carbon emissions by 94.5 percent since 1988.

Water and energy consumption has steadily been reduced and closed material loops ensure that production scrap as well as varnish and paint residue are rechanneled into the production cycle.

An increasingly important role is also assigned short transport routes and on-site production. Having recognized this early on, Benecke-Kaliko built modern plants in key economic areas.

TEPEO® und TEPEO 2® compact sheeting and expanded vinyl combine eco-friendly lightweight construction with exclusive interior design. These polyolefin-based surface materials have a lower density than PVC materials, making them up to 50% lighter in weight.

With Yorn® Light, a PVC/PO laminate, Benecke-Kaliko also offers weight-reduced PVC foils. The weight of a vehicle can be reduced by as much as 2 kg by making consistent use of lighterweight foils – with no loss in terms of quality and feel-to-the-touch. This weight reduction cuts fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
